Dan’s experience includes roles as refinery manager, technical vice president, project finance analyst, mergers and acquisitions consultant, major projects manager, and corporate control analyst, as well as team leader for numerous assignments targeted at driving profitability improvement in petroleum refineries.

Joe Aiken is an Associate Consultant with Energy Stream Consulting. He has more than 35 years of management and technical experience associated with water and wastewater treatment, assessment of environmental issues at a variety of industrial sites, and remediation of petroleum, industrial solvents, and metals in soil and groundwater. His professional expertise includes:
- Integration of environmental cleanup with property redevelopment and reuse
- Environmental investigation and selection of remedial technologies to best address site conditions
- Remedial cost estimation
- Modeling of liabilities/costs to assist with due diligence, obtain environmental insurance, and negotiate environmental liability transfer programs
Joe also has substantial experience managing complex environmental cleanup programs, which includes regulatory negotiations, permitting, site investigations, feasibility studies, and the field implementation of a variety of remedial strategies. He has extensive experience working with contaminants such as asbestos, petroleum, chlorinated solvents, and numerous other issues.

He began his career with Texaco, Inc. as a maintenance engineer and has spent more than 40 years developing expertise in refining, milling, and pipeline transportation. He has worked with independent organizations in positions ranging from laborer to management. Tom has developed solid field experience and technical skills through working long hours in older facilities facing multiple challenges.
With a background in all phases of maintenance and construction, Tom is adept at finding creative solutions to problems encountered both with equipment and personnel, as well as providing support with shop inspections and construction field management during outages. Tom’s career spans stints with processing facilities and hydrocarbon storage and pipeline companies.
